We delivered the Unique Robotic X-Ray CT System to CERN.

Radalytica successfully completed the delivery, installation, and commissioning of our largest and most technically advanced system to date: A robotic X-ray CT system developed specifically for CERN. This system will support the maintenance and inspection of accelerator infrastructure, ensuring long-term operational reliability. We have designed a solution that bridges the gap between large-scale dimensions and extreme accuracy, setting a new standard in robotic NDT.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION AND PERFORMANCE

The system is built on high-end components to ensure stability and precision when inspecting difficult-to-access objects:

  • Robotics: Two UR20 collaborative robots.
  • X-Ray Source: 225 kVp power.
  • Detection: Varex flat panel detector (selected at the customer’s explicit request).

The result is a system capable of detecting minute defects even in structures several meters long, where conventional inspection approaches reach their limits. Initial measurement results are highly promising, and the customer has expressed full satisfaction with both the technical performance and the overall collaboration.
