On-aircraft robotic X-ray measurements across R&D, production and in-service aircraft

In this video, we present a two-day on-aircraft inspection campaign carried out at Aero Vodochody on the L-39 aircraft.

Using Radalytica’s portable robotic inspection system, we performed advanced non-destructive measurements directly on the aircraft, including the inspection of the leading edge shown in the video. The project demonstrates how high-resolution imaging and robotic scanning technologies can be deployed outside the laboratory and applied directly in real aerospace environments.

The video also highlights the growing role of on-aircraft inspection methods in aerospace manufacturing and maintenance, enabling engineers to assess material condition, manufacturing quality, and structural integrity without removing components from the aircraft.

We would like to thank Aero Vodochody and their engineering team for their collaboration and openness to innovative inspection approaches. Their commitment to advanced technologies continues to support the development of more efficient and reliable aerospace inspection solutions.
